Our senior citizens can be the backbone of our community.  We must make certain that we have ample healthcare and housing for the greatest generation in a manner that reflects the dignity and respect that they have earned.  In addition, our leaders at all levels of government should make sure that our senior citizens are encouraged to engage in civic involvement and public service.  In this time of economic crisis, our young people and the unemployed could use the wisdom and guidance of our senior citizens, and our state legislature must make sure that the barriers to civic involvement (whether legal, social or otherwise) are removed.
