Human Services

The first thing to keep in mind regarding Human Services is that they become less necessary when people are back to work.  High unemployment and economic distress leads to greater dependence of government human services.  Second, human services providers must utilize technology to provide necessary services as efficiently as possible so a greater share of our tax dollars get to people in need, instead of be used in administration.  Finally, we must continue and support the philosophy that Human Services are a “hand-up” and not an endless “hand-out,” tying additional education and training, and drug testing, to continued aid.  We cannot, and should not, reward those whose addictions prevent them from being productive members of society with endless public assistance.
